Dominik Tkalčić has been a research assistant at the Department of Science and Technology Studies since October 2023, where he primarily supports the project Innovation Residues – Modes and infrastructures of caring for our longue-durée environmental futures (INNORES) by studying the impact of digitalization on the environment. He holds a B.A. in Culture & Economy from University of Mannheim and is in the final stages of his M.A. in Governance of Technology and Innovation at RWTH Aachen University. He is currently a Visiting Master at University of Vienna.
Before joining the STS Department, Dominik worked at the Institute for SME Research in the digitalization project team at University of Mannheim. Moreover, he was a Visiting Research Student in the research groups Digital Technologies and Societal Change at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as well as in META – Social Sciences and Humanities for Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano.
His research interests lie in prototyping and the socio-cultural and ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and Industry 4.0.
